You really get into her mind, and not just hers, but the people around her as well. You show us all the little clues that Azula was not right growing up.

The Azula Alphabet is one of the most amazing, touching, beautifully painful things we have ever read, bram; you have splendid taste.  Poor, terrifying Azula.  Obviously a familiarity with Avater:The Last Airbender is assumed of those reading it, but even if you’ve never seen a single episode, Azula’s brittle brilliance is worth a look.

Historymiss has recently revealed that she’s really Iron Man failing once again to be remotely incognito. (RDJ? Tony Stark? All of the above? None of the above?)

Regardless of who she is behind her computer screen, she adopts and becomes characters so completely, never shying away from incredibly challenging perspectives.  She lends humanity and depth even to Meredith Stannard, whose personality may have only been hinted at in-game, but is explored so beautifully by our Historymiss.

She’s also a brilliant contributor to multiple fandoms, Skyrim, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, AtLA, and Avengers/Iron Man, primarily, and the creator of the ever thought-provoking and gorgeous Feminist Friday.

(If you’re more interested in the role-playing than fic reading, simply track some Avengers #cracksmash.  We guarantee you’ll be entertained.)

For our Dragon Age audience, she is probably best known for her Varric Alphabet, for the way she can twist a sentence to say three impossible things and nothing and everything, all at once, just like the silver-tongued dwarf himself.  

(And as this post was inspired by Azula, we must mention that she even manages to write them meeting, an instant of power and words and unease, vivid in less than 100 words.)

Mother tongue is an Anders fic that cannot go without mention, the complete alienation from his world, and the way he is able to overcome it, if only a little. 

Brilliant and fierce and beautiful, in every sense of the word, we hope you give historymiss a look.  We can’t get past Historymiss’ ability with words, something that could be simple is transformed with fantastic imagery and symbolism. It is a viscous, sensory world that she is able to create.  We hope you enjoy it as much as we do, and we’ll cheerfully accept the blame when you somehow lose track of your entire afternoon, following the path her words lay out in front of you.

Historymiss is so amazing y’all! She also makes you love characters that you aren’t really wanting to love. (HANK I’m lookin’ at you!) She is a complete joy to know and an all around damned fine human being.

And also she is Tony Stark.

I’m crying a tiny bit. Damn you guys for being so lovely! Sharing fic with you all- rp or drabbles or poetry or full blown challenges- has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. The truth is, everything I know about writing I stole from one of you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
