The Commonplace Book

You can expect: Bioware fangirling, The Legend of Korra, Feminist Fridays, comic books, sundry other nerdishness and all the AUs.

Feb 25

thesilverfeatheredraven asked: What Erik is getting up to in Fallout land.

The darkness was warm, and stifling, and smelled of burlap. Erik was beginning to get rather used to it.

In fact, when the bag was lifted from his head, he was momentarily dazzled by the sudden rush of daylight.

“Avaunt, fiend.” he muttered, blinking his eyes. The raider in front of him scowled.

“What did you call me?”

Erik took in the spiky mohawk and bloodshot eyes of the raider coolly. Captain Cosmos wouldn’t be intimidated, and neither would he.

“I called you a fiend. Fiend.”

The raider exchanged looks with her compatriots.

“Vault kid.” a second raider pointed to Erik’s jumpsuit and Pip-Boy, then twirled his finger by his head. “They’re all crazy like this.”

Erik bristled. Vault 52 had been a fine place to live: lots of cram, hardly any radroaches, and stacks and stacks of Hubris comics. He was not crazy. He was a Cosmoteer. He’d found the decoder ring and everything.

These losers were probably Grognak fans.

“You won’t get away with this.” he said bravely. “Skuld will find you.”

“Long as she’s got caps, that’s fine by us.” the first raider put the sack back over Erik’s head and, presumably, given the lack of further dialogue, left. Erik didn’t mind. He was working on his daring escape plan already.
