Because occasionally nothing will do except Nate/Elena
And today seems to be a very ‘write romantic fluff’ kind of day. If you want to send me prompts to that effect, now would probably be a good time!
SPOILERS FOR UNCHARTED 3. So it’s going behind a break!
It should have been dramatic. Rescuing her from a tower or a nest of dragons or something: that was the way that Erik had always imagined meeting his future wife. However, Skuld killed most of the dragons that they met and all the towers that they came across were filled with bandits and not suitable for princesses at all.
Erik was beginning to think that he was never going to find a wife at this rate, and that this was just another thing that the bards had gotten wrong.
He came to this conclusion in yet another dragur tomb, and it made him so despondent that he hardly noticed the Dragur Lord stand up, bones straining under rotting flesh, until it exploded in a ball of magical fire.
“Are you alright?” Skuld asked, already digging through the ash for valuable items. “Nearly had you there.”
Erik looked down at her: scrabbling through charred bone for a few extra gold pieces, sword at the ready, her circlet skewed rakishly over one eye, and realised that the stories had been wrong about more than just one thing.
It wasn’t princesses you fell in love with after all.
skyrim dragon age I don’t care
SAME DO IT.
I am in a bed fort. I can do this!
More prompts? I love prompts!
Delicious prompts yesss
I have measured out my life with fandom moves;
I know the fanfics written with such subtle grace
that snobs would be hard-put to disapprove.
So how should I presume?
And of course that was supposed to be answered privately but my iPhone won’t let me. Drat. Sorry about that ):
Don’t worry about it! I’d hate to think I was stressing you out or anything- finish in your own time, I’ll be happy whenever it comes :)
It sent me an email yesterday saying ‘hey spicyshimmy’s birthday is on January 1st!’ and I kind of panicked and started bashing out some fic (as you do) and then this evening I remembered ‘didn’t she just have one in August?’ so I checked and, lo and behold, livejournal is a dirty liar.
I did get a bit done before I checked, though, so here it is anyway. I’ll only forget about it in the interim, so have it as a belated Christmas present. The rest of you, enjoy my attempted shimmy impression.
Sleeping with (or rather, tonight, beside) a sominari will eventually do strange things to your dreams. Connor had learned this within a few weeks of his association with Feynriel: they are fluid, sprawling things, his dreams, and occasionally Feynriel will wake and rub the bridge of his nose (standing just too high to be entirely human) and complain that he has had dog dreams again.
Connor always feels faintly embarrassed at this, as though through an effort of will he could stop dreaming about hunting on cold and misty mornings, the breath of the mabari clouding in the air and his cheeks reddening with exercise and excitement, not flushing with the heat as they are so prone to do in Tevinter.
So it is with surprise that on the eve of his birthday, Connor awakes to a dream of Ferelden that he knows is not his own. It’s there in the seams- the small joins of magic that his master has taught him to look for, and in the subtle blurring of the landscape. Connor never saw the coast until he travelled to Tevinter, but here there are rocks and windblown grasses that have clearly been added by Feynriel from his memories of the camp on the Wounded Coast.
In exploring, Connor walks past a small encampment and snorts- all of the men Feynriel has conjured have beards like dark brown bottle-brushes.
A salty breeze tugs his hair, and Connor looks to see Feynriel himself, wisps of his braid sticking up in a way he’s imagined a dozen times but never actually seen.
“Happy birthday, Connor.”
Thank you so much! They gave me a much-needed smile and were so very charming. Shimmy, it was lovely to get a bonus letter from Anders (and you have such pretty handwriting!), rhiannon, your hand-drawn card made me grin hugely and flutiebear, I loved your version of Flemeth!
1. Doctor Who
2. The Killing (Forbrydelsen)- the Danish original, not the shouty American remake.
3. Community
4. Justified- I will never get tired of watching a distractingly attractive man in a cowboy hat solve crimes.
5. QI
Oh man, this is going to be tough. I don’t go out a lot and when I do it’s usually to the same places, so we’ll see if I can make 5…
1. Daquiri’s, a Mexican restaurant in Cardiff
2. The Pot, also in Cardiff, more of a cafe but they do fabulous American breakfasts that I miss every day.
3. Loch Fyne fish restaurant.
4. This place I went to in America one time that had this amazing blueberry beer.
5. This other place in America that did the best steak I’ve ever had.
In no particular order:
1. Wonder Woman
2. Sarah Lund from The Killing
3. Katara
4. Isabela
5. Eowyn
yes do this again
Sure, I’ll answer in the morning
